Sometimes due to time or due to us being lazy we all gain weight. When we gain weight, some of us start to panic that we are now turning fat. After we gain weight we scramble madly to go to the gym and try various diets to help us lose weight.
One diet that has been used by lots of people is the low carbohydrates diet. This article will discuss the low carbohydrate diets. Most famous diets such as the Atkins, Southbeach, Zone, Protein Power, Scarsdale, Carbohydrate’s Addict and Sugar Busters base their diets on Low Carbs.
Low carb diets usually restrict the person it intake less than 20 or 40 percent of calories by limiting the carbs. The low carb diets usually require person to be in various phases to make it more effective. Phase 1 of the diet only permits the user to eat very little carbs but as the phase progresses, the car intake becomes more.
The reason for the low carb diet is that by eating fewer carbs, the fats will be burned. This happens because the insulin production is reduced. When the insulin is reduced the resistance of the insulin and chances of obesity is reduced. In the short term low carb diets work because of the increased water loss the person will experience. Low carb diets also work faster.
However experts say that low carb diets also have bad side effects. Very low carbohydrate consumption leads to a person to suffer from ketosis. This causes the person to feel dizzy, have headaches, nausea, tiredness, dehydration. The person may also experience constipation. When he tries to reduce the carbs he etas, he saturates himself with fat and cholesterol. Because the person also reduces the carb intake and increase proteins such as meats, he is more at risk for heat attacks.
Some extreme conditions that have not yet been proven but are only hypothetical are bone loss. They claim this happen when the kidney becomes overworked and blood acidity changes.
People who really are critics of the low carb diets also claim that this diet has an effect environmentally. They claim that because more people will reduce carbs, they will naturally at more meat products which the world can not be able to sustain.
Personally, I think those people who make all those stupid reasons why low carb diets are bad, just don’t want to reduce their intake of carbs. If they want lots of carbs that’s fine with me. Just don’t make irritating and stupid reasons like bone burning and running out of meat.
