Improving Your Exercise Routines

Whenever the mirror, the weighing scale and the tape measure combine forces in their quest to remind me that I need to lose weight, they also tell me silently that I need to exercise if I still want to wear my bikini come summer and face my partner’s exes with my head held high.

Of course, with such a goal in mind, almost all of us would be no doubt inspired to exercise, if for the sake of saving our pride alone. But when it’s time to get down and dirty, that’s when laziness kicks in and we start asking ourselves, is it worth all the pain and frustration that exercise is always accompanied with?
If you find yourself in such a situation, here’s a tip to improve your exercise routine.

Choose Something You Enjoy – Exercise need not be all hard work and no fun because that would never make you Jack or Jill happy individuals, would it? The reason why most people have a hard time succeeding in their exercise goals is because they view exercise as a form of punishment, a duty or torture that they have to subject themselves to or maybe, even all of the above.

Naturally, with a point of view like that regarding exercise, no wonder they don’t succeed in accomplishing their exercise goals! If you want this time to be different from all the times you previously tried to stick with your exercise goals, you have to add spice to your exercise routine.

That’s right. Just like how you have to get the spark back when a relationship starts becoming too familiar or boring, you have to transform your exercise routine into something fun and something you look forward to.

How To Add Spice? – Good question. And the next question I have to ask to get the answer to that is “what are you fond of doing?”. Some people are fond of dancing and that’s great because you can use dancing as a form of exercise. If you’re tired of the old hip-hop scene and dancing to the same old tunes of J.Lo over and over then maybe it’s time to get lyrical and try the more artistic but equally demanding routines of jazz.

Are you considered by your friends as OC when it comes to cleanliness and neatness? If so, you could use that to your advantage by turning the usual cleaning tasks you do into an exercise routine. By sweeping the floor and carrying a dumbbell on the other would be a great way to combine your cleaning task and exercise routine.
