Some Common Diet Myths
People always worry about their weight. It is sometimes associated that people with weight problems are very unhealthy. It is very true that people with weight problems will eventually suffer from disease. That’s why some people will try to go to different extent to look and be fit.
Aside from exercise, a common way of becoming fit is through diet. However there are now various different practices of people who undergo diet that are wrong and should be corrected. This article will discuss some of the common lies and misconceptions about diet that some people believe.
1. Some people think that eating healthy is very boring and limited. Maybe
before the age of the non-fat foods healthy eating is really hard to do.
However that still shouldn’t be the case, because healthy eating only
becomes boring depending on how you prepare your food. If you eat just plain
boiled carrots everyday, I’m sure you’ll get bored. Look at the
cartoon character rabbits; they always insult people to entertain themselves.
It will take time and practice before you get the hang of it. There are also
restaurants that offer healthy diet foods, so there’s no such thing
as a boring healthy meal.
2. Low fat, low carb, sugar free and fat free foods are all good for your
health – this is definitely false. Not all foods with labels like this
are true, you should learn to read them more clearly and be able to choose
the right ones. The label might say sugar free, so you immediately get it
but what you didn’t understand was the cost of the sugar ingredient
is free which makes it cheaper. People also think that labels that say they
are fat free are calorie free that is untrue. Choose the food you get based
on the amount of calories you get from them per serving on a daily basis.
3. Eating a whole fruit is the same as drinking fruit juices – the
only thing similar about them is that fruit juices come from the fruit. Fruit
juice is simply sugar and the squeezed juice of the fruit which is fructose.
Drinking a glass of juice also has more calories compared to eating a fruit.
4. Healthy foods are expensive – healthy foods are not that expensive,
you cam actually research on the internet or ask a dietician what are best
substitutes for that food that are not that costly.
5. Most salt in the diet of people are already added at the table – this is not true. Most foods already have high sodium content that are bad for the body. So you no longer need to add the salt as this will cause health damages in the long run.
