Diet 101

For most people, talking about diet is one of the most unwelcome things to do because it reminds them of their own situations and the fact that they’re overweight. But nothing good ever comes out of denying what’s real and what’s true so today, it’s time for all of us to face the music!

A lot of us, whether we’re aware of it already or not, need to go on a diet. Going on a diet, mind you, isn’t solely concerned about burning fats and calories and gaining your figure back, pre-marriage. Sometimes, going on a diet is required from a person just to maintain her present – and ideal – weight or simply to keep health complications at bay.

Let’s Determine If You Really Need To Go On A Diet Or Not

Obviously, when a weighing scale tells you that you’re heavier than you should be, you need to go on a diet. But let’s say that you just want to be really, really sure before signing yourself to hours of frustration 23/7. Well, your wish is my command. To know whether you need to go on a diet or not, you’re required to compute for your body mass index. Mmm…not familiar of what it is, aren’t you?

But that’s okay because all we need to know are the numbers and not an explanation about what it is. To calculate for your BMI, you have to know your weight in KG and your height in meter squared. Now divide your weight by your height. Finish? Okay, if your BMI is between 18-24.9 please sing hallelujah as that means you don’t need to go on a diet – yet, so be sure that you don’t become complacent.

If your BMI turns out to be anywhere between 25-29, it’s time to research about the types of diet because you’re already overweight. But if you’ve hit the big 30.0 then my dear, there’s no time to waste because according to your BMI, you’re actually obese.

On Choosing The Type Of Diet For You

If you’ve reached this part of the article already, I’m assuming that you’re already way past self-denial and you’re now eager to join the rest of humanity in their quest for fat free bodies.

Great then! When selecting which type of diet fits you, you have to consider what exactly are your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to food. Secondly, some types of diet require you to spend more than usual so it’s important to know your budget. Thirdly, do ask yourself if you’re comfortable to taking pills in lieu of going on a diet.

Whatever you decide on, I wish you luck and am looking forward to seeing you in better shape in the future!
